| BIO:George Henry Bartlett Young migrated to Victoria with his parents when only aged 2 years. He followed in his fathers footsteps as a market gardener, on his own right, beginning in Malvern for many years. George married Elizabeth Ethell in 1869 and there first child Elizabeth was born in Toorak in 1870 after which he took charge of a selection at Dromana, and remained there for ten years. He next engaged in market gardening at Brighton for four years, and eventually took up land at Oakleigh, twelve acres on the south side under cultivation, and five acres on the north side under grass.
