Notes for Evelyn Norman Cecil GOODING
1EVELYN NORMAN CECIL GOODING:
Cecil was the youngest child born to Marie and William on October the 7th, 1902. 'Dick', as Cecil was usually known, had a fun loving personality, always ready for a joke and laughter. He was always ready to help anyone, as neighbours can testify. His childhood was a happy one, and after leaving school he worked at home on the farm.
During his twenties, he joined the 13th Light Horse Regiment, which was a training corps formed to continue military instruction, after the cessation of the First World War Cecil married Gwendoline Cameron (niece of his neighbours, Brock Bros.
A son, whom they named John Evelyn Gooding, was born on March the 30th, 1942, the only child of their marriage. Cecil lived all his married life in the second home built on the farm at 'Myrtlevale'.
The sudden death of Cecil (Dick) from a heart attack on July the 25th, 1961 aged. 59 years, brought his share of the property to his son, John who managed it in conjunction with his uncle, Laurel Stanley (see above). On his uncle's death in 1970, John was bequeathed the remainder of the Gooding estate.
'Myrtlevale' was sold in March 1983 and John and his mother Gwendoline, now reside at Shady Creek.
